College Counseling
We offer assistance with Undergraduate Applications for 11th and 12th graders, international students, and transfer students.
We also assist undergraduates and young professionals with Graduate Applications.
Here are the basics:
1. Initial Consultation
During the initial consultation, we’ll get to know each other and review your student profile and goals. This will help us get a sense of what you’re looking for in a college experience and how we can help you get there. The earlier we begin this process, the more time we will have to prepare a stellar application package, thus avoiding last-minute panic around deadlines.
2. Charting Your Course
After our initial consultation, we’ll work together to create a plan of action that will guide you through the college application process. We’ll help you identify colleges that align with your goals, including some “safety,” “good fit,” and “reach” schools. We’ll also develop a timeline for completing your applications, and help you stay on track with important deadlines. If you want help scheduling college campus visits, we can do that too!
3. Essay & Application
Once we’ve created a plan of action, we’ll help you tackle the most important part of the college application process: the personal statement essay and application. We’ll work with you to brainstorm compelling essay topics, edit drafts, fill out the Common Application, and craft a formal resume that will help you present yourself in the best possible light to college admissions officers. Your counselor will also help you choose which extracurriculars and recommendation letters to showcase.
4. Finalize & Submit
When it’s time to send in your applications, we’ll be there to help you navigate the final steps of the process, including preparing for any interviews and writing supplemental essays. We’ll make sure all your materials are in order, help you keep track of deadlines, and provide support and guidance as needed. With our help, you can feel confident that you’ve done everything possible to make your college dreams a reality. Once you receive admissions decision letters, your counselor will help you pick the college that best fits your academic goals.
